Within the automotive industry, fans and blowers are required for a variety of applications, from engine cooling to cabin climate control.
Despite this diversity in application, automotive fans and blowers have several commonalities. Due to the harsh operating environments in vehicles, all automotive fans and blowers require a high degree of ruggedness, the ability to function in temperature extremes, and the ability to resist vibration. They also require quiet operation for driver and passenger comfort, especially as quiet-running hybrid and electric cars continue to rise in popularity.
Automotive Fans
While a number of Pelonis Technologies, Inc. (PTI) fans are suitable for use in automotive applications, we manufacture two axial fans explicitly for this industry.
Our Fans-Tech Condensation/Evaporation automotive fans are specifically designed for engine cooling purposes. Utilizing PTI-patented brushless DC motor technology, these fans operate quietly and with little vibration. They also feature a wide operational temperature range, from -40 °C (-40 °F) to 85 °C (185 °F).
Automotive Blowers
Like our fans, many PTI blowers are suitable for automotive industry applications; the Twin Centrifugal Automotive Blowers, however, are designed explicitly for automotive use.
These rugged blowers use Electronically Commutated (EC) DC motor technology to ensure excellent performance and efficiency — despite being compact and lightweight. They are easy to install at both the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket stages and feature Pulse Width Modulation for automatic speed control.
